UPDATE 7:45 P.M. – Arrests made in shooting death of S.C. man

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators have charged two people in connection with yesterday’s fatal shooting of Junior Gabriel Linares, 18, of Greenville, South Carolina.

Victor Alejandro Flores, 18, of Gainesville is charged with the following:

•         Involuntary manslaughter (felony)

•         Tampering with evidence (felony)

•         Possession of a handgun during the commission of a crime (felony)

•         Possession of THC oil (felony)

•         Reckless conduct (misdemeanor)

Investigators also obtained arrest warrants for Anthony Rebollar, 18, Gainesville, on the following charges:

·         Tampering with evidence (felony)

·         Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony)

·         Possession of THC Oil (felony)

Both men remain in the Hall County Jail without bond. The case remains under investigation, although further arrests are not expected.”

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

“The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 19, shooting of a Greenville, South Carolina, man off Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway.
Deputies responded to the 2000 block of Walker Drive near Chicopee Street at roughly 4:30 p.m. and assisted bystanders with providing first aid to the victim, identified as Junior Gabriel Linares, 18, who was lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his chest. Hall County Fire Rescue transported Linares to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he died.
Deputies and investigators recovered the weapon, a handgun, and interviewed individuals who were at the location at the time of the gunshot. Everyone who was present during the incident is accounted for, and there is no danger to the community. There have been no arrests or criminal charges filed in the case at this time (early Wednesday afternoon).”
