UPDATE: Braves’ Albies, Fried sidelined

Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is on the injured list after hurting his left wrist in Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.

This happened just hours after pitcher Max Fried was placed on the list. (See below.)

Albies suffered a fractured wrist.

He infielder was trying to field a throw at second on a stolen-base attempt and bent his glove hand back when he collided with Cardinals outfielder Michael Siani.

The Atlanta Braves announced Sunday that All-Star pitcher Max Fried has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a forearm nerve inflammation.

The move is retroactive to Thursday.

Fried has been considered the team’s ace pitcher so far this season after the man in the top spot at the time, Spencer Strider, was sidelined for the rest of the season after just two starts this year. That was in April.
