Bill would require licensing of home inspectors

(GA. NEWS NETWORK)

Georgia lawmakers are considering a bill that would establish licensing requirements and standards for home inspectors in the state.

Currently, there are no regulations in place, allowing anyone with a business license to call themselves a home inspector.

The proposed legislation aims to protect consumers by ensuring that inspectors meet minimum qualifications, education, and experience requirements.

WSB-TV reports Real estate agents and home inspectors support the bill, emphasizing the importance of professional standards in the homebuying process.
