The planned transformation of Lakeshore Mall into a mixed-use development has claimed another victim – the part of Belk that included men’s and children’s clothing and housewares, luggage, etc.
Signs on the doors to that part of the mall direct shoppers to the “women’s” store where those items are now displayed and sold.
Just a few weeks ago, Books-A-Million left Lakeshore for the Publix Shopping Center on Dawsonville Highway. Other, smaller enterprises over the past couple of years have folded or moved to a different location.
The owners of the property have said that as part of the redevelopment of the site, the only existing stores that will remain are Belk and Dick’s.
