‘Close’ – But Records Not Too Important
“They’ve been close. . . its doesn’t’ matter the record of the opponent. . .” stated coach Sean Pender in an interview with Mike Wofford. “. . .These two teams battle it out and they definitely give it their all when they play this game. . .” The Trojans come into this week’s series at 1-2, after defeating the East Hall Vikings for the their first win of the season.
Still a Rivalry, But Needs to be More Competitive
When asked about whether or not the game is still a ‘rivalry’, War Eagles coach Stuart Cunningham replied, “I think its a rivalry because the school came from the population that was once North Hall, but its got to be a little more competitive to become a really really strong rivalry. . .” The War Eagles come in at 1-2, defeating the Franklin County Lions in the first game of the season for their first win since 2022.
Both interviews can be heard on WGTJ’s ‘Game Plan – a Look at High School Football in North Georgia’, starting tomorrow night at 6:05pm. Our broadcast coverage will begin after the show at 7:05pm, with ‘The Longstreet Cafe Pregame Show’.
