Barrow SO mourning the loss of one of its own

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) lost one of its officers in a recent off-duty accident.

“It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the passing of…officer Braydon Butler (who) tragically passed away from injuries sustained in an off-duty accident,” Sheriff Judd Smith said Monday.

BCSO FACEBOOK POST:

“Braydon began his career at the Sheriff’s Office through our High School  Explorers program at 14 years old  where he found his passion to serve others through law enforcement.  Braydon graduated from high school here in Barrow County and was hired as a Detention Officer where he started his path to becoming a Deputy Sheriff.  Braydon worked hard and was only 4 weeks away from graduating the Northeast Georgia Police Academy along with several other Cadets but tragically his life ended.

“Anyone who knew Braydon knew he loved to serve God and others first.  All he ever wanted to do was use his servant heart to be a light to others as he was anytime you were around him.  Although our hearts are broken, we know Braydon was welcomed into the arms of our Lord.  In true Braydon fashion even after death he is still serving others by saving lives through his organ donations.  We ask that our community please lift up the entire Butler family, friends, and our Office during this difficult time.

“The Butler family requests donations in loving memory of Braydon be made to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Employee Fund.  https://donate.stripe.com/test_7sI4jc3lPdGSfsI7st
