An investigation into a suspicious death by Gwinnett County Police has resulted in a 27-year-old Barrow County man being charged with murder and numerous theft and financial crimes.
GWINNETT CO. POLICE NEWS RELEASE:
“On October 29, officers responded to 1241 Mount Vernon Drive in Lawrenceville for a welfare check on Robert Terry (60 years old, Lawrenceville). Terry had not been heard from in several weeks, so officers went inside the residence and discovered him deceased. After examining the scene, homicide investigators and the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office all responded to conduct an investigation. An autopsy was completed on October 30, and Terry’s death was ruled a homicide.
After finding Terry, investigators learned that one of his vehicles had been captured on traffic cameras driving around Gwinnett County. Additionally, investigators learned that money was missing from Terry’s financial institutions, and several important documents were missing from his home. Investigators were able to obtain footage of Auburn resident Marquis Green withdrawing several thousand dollars from Terry’s bank accounts while driving around in Terry’s vehicle.
On November 14, Green was arrested at a restaurant in Duluth. He was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail and is currently charged with felony murder, robbery by intimidation, aggravated assault, financial transaction card fraud, concealing the death of another, identity theft, computer forgery, theft by taking, and aggravated cruelty to animals.”
