“On October 24, 2023, Jon Harvey Congdon was taken into custody by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office. Congdon, 54, is charged with criminal attempt to entice a minor for indecent purposes.

The arrest was the result of an investigation requested by the Banks County School System on October 14, regarding an inappropriate relationship between an educator and student. After investigation, the Banks County Sheriff’s Office determined the incident to be isolated, involving one juvenile victim.

This incident remains an active investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.”
