AT&T strike; Piedmont to host court of appeals

*Communications Workers of America (CWA) employed by AT&T Southeast are on strike to protest “unfair labor practices committed by management during negotiations for a new union contract.” Several local employees lined a part of Jewell Parkway seeking the support of passing motorists. AT&T issued a statement Saturday disputing the Union’s assertions.

*Presiding Judge Christopher J. McFadden, Chief Judge Amanda H. Mercier, and Judge Brian Rickman head to the Demorest Campus of Piedmont University later this month to hold the Court of Appeals of Georgia’s second offsite event of the year. The panel will be hearing oral arguments at the Swanson Center for Performing Arts and Communications August 29 at 10:00 a.m. The session will be open to the public.
