A Royston man remained in the Hall County Jail Thursday afternoon with no bond following his arrest this week on child sex abuse charges.
Jessie Wayne Shackelford, 38, is accused of molesting a female victim under the age of 14 on several occasions between January 2021 and May 2022. The crimes occurred at a Flowery Branch residence and Shackelford knew his victim. according to investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
The sheriff’s office became aware of the crimes last month when the victim disclosed the abuse to a friend at church. Arrest warrants were taken Monday, and Shackelford was arrested on a traffic stop in Hall County Wednesday.
Shackelford faces charges of child molestation, aggravated child molestation and incest, which are all felony offenses.
