The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Thursday provided details on forthcoming transportation programs and projects receiving funding as a result of a $1.5 billion investment from Gov. Kemp’s amended FY 24 budget recommendation, recently approved by the state legislature.
The allocation includes $175.5 million for projects in Hall and four other area counties – Barrow, Forsyth, Jackson, and Lumpkin.
The Hall County projects include widening of Georgia 211 and Georgia 365 (at a cost of $10 million). A part of Georgia 211 in Barrow County is also included. Total allocation for the Georgia 211 work: $39 million.
The Forsyth County project is the widening of Georgia 20 at a cost of $120 million.
In Jackson County, “miscellaneous improvements” are planned on Georgia 53 at a cost of $1.5 million.
And, in Lumpkin County Thursday’s announcement includes five million dollars on the widening of a section of Georgia 400.
