Apalachee football coach resigns

The head football coach of the Apalachee High School Wildcats has resigned, citing the mental and physical aspects of dealing with the aftermath of last year’s mass shooting at the school that left two students and two teachers dead, and several students wounded. Among the dead was one of Mike Hancock’s assistant coaches.

Hancock made his announcement Monday on X, formerly Twitter. Mike Hancock on X: “Thank you Chee Nation! Philippians 4:6-7 – Pray & seek His PEACE! #MentalHealthMatters https://t.co/fUktpwnLBu” / X
