Less than week after a Hall County Animal Control rescue of nearly 100 animals, there’s been an arrest of a 46-year-old woman on 12 counts of animal cruelty.
Jail records show that in addition to those charges, Teresa Marie Welch, 48, is charged with child cruelty.
Details of what led to her arrest, she was booked Tuesday, are not known and probably won’t be until Friday at the earliest when local law enforcement administrative offices reopen following their holiday break. As of late Thursday morning, Welch was still in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $28,800.
And it’s not yet known if her case is related to the earlier one.
As an aside to this story, there were 706 people starting their Christmas Day behind bars at the Hall County Jail Thursday morning.
