Animal cruelty case: One arrested, one at large

One suspect is in jail and the other is on the run in an animal cruelty case under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“According to the investigation to date, Dequaveious Tyron Coley, 21, and Keiana Williams, 25, both of Gainesville, abandoned a one-year-old German Shepherd mix dog in an outbuilding of a residence in the Chicopee community.

The landlord of the property contacted HCSO for help on June 30.

The responding deputy discovered the dog inside the outbuilding, which had minimal ventilation, suffering from what appeared to be dehydration and malnutrition. The preliminary investigation determined neighbors had been providing food and water to the dog for approximately two weeks. Coley and Williams were last seen at the residence on June 13.

After gathering evidence, the HCSO deputy applied for arrest warrants for both Coley and Williams for cruelty to animals. Coley (pictured) was arrested at the Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday, July 23, and transported to the Hall County Jail, where he remains with no bond. Williams remains at large.”
