*Hall County authorities are trying to locate the owner of an SUV found abandoned in a marshy area at a county community center. The sheriff’s office says a Hall County Parks and Leisure Services employee was notified that the vehicle was “in the walking field at the North Hall Community Center.” According to preliminary reports from deputies, “the vehicle appeared to have gone through the center of the field before the driver lost control into the marsh area next to the trail. Deputies had the vehicle towed.”
*Gainesville Police have charged a 34-year-old man with Deposit Account Fraud/Bad Checks Greater than $499. Joshua Marquis Brown “did try to open a checking account and deposit a fraudulent check under a false name.,” a police department spokesman said.
*Police have also arrested a 40-year-old man, Dennis Antonio Gomez-Ramos, on Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Attempt charges. They say he was caught trying to steal $1,000 worth of wiring from the construction site for the new tower at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
