Fur Kids to the rescue.
The Cumming-based no-kill shelter reports getting a call Wednesday afternoon “that stopped us in our tracks, and we had to act fast.”
More than 40 kittens were facing a crisis at the animal shelter in Cobb County, having been exposed to the Panluekopenia virus, a feline distemper, and all facing euthanasia that afternoon.
Cobb County put out an urgent plea and Furkids acted.
“We said yes,” reads a Fur Kids Facebook post. “Our team immediately mobilized and prepared a quarantine space.”
For the next two weeks, Fur Kids will monitor each kitten for illness, run tests and exams, and provide life-saving supportive care – all with the goal of getting them healthy and ready for adoption. But this medical care comes with a cost and that’s where the public can help.
