A domestic violence registry?; ICE protest in Milledgeville; Tap water again okay

*A Savannah woman is pushing for a state domestic violence registry. Savannah Marchant started a petition to establish a domestic violence registry in the state. She tells WSAV she’s a domestic violence survivor and wanted to take action after noticing Georgia did not have a domestic violence registry like other states. The petition had nearly reached 2,000 signatures by Friday.

*An “ICE Out for Good” protest was held by college students in Milledgeville Saturday, sparked by the two recent shooting deaths by ICE agents in Minneapolis. Students say it’s important to rally together to create change in their community and express solidarity with protests nationwide.  

*A “Do Not Consume Water Advisory” has been canceled for Griffin residents. City Manager Jessica O’Connor says a fuel spill near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport contaminated the Flint River. The advisory also caused some restaurants to close. Spalding County Jail Sheriff Darrell Dix says inmates had to skip showers and eat sandwiches on disposable plates and utensils.
