Inmate, jailers hurt; Gville trucker wanted; Juveniles charged with arson; And more

*HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE: Sandra Lee Baumgartner, 50, of Braselton, was an inmate in the Hall County Jail. According to the initial investigation, Baumgartner yelled in the faces of her cellmates in booking and grabbed one of their wrists early Friday morning… The cellmate yelled for Baumgartner to let go, and jail personnel went into the cell to remove her. Baumgartner resisted, causing scratches to the hands of three jail employees and the arm of a fourth. She also breached the skin of the fellow inmate when grabbing her wrist…

*A 9-year-old and a 12-year-old have been charged with setting fire to a tent inside the WalMart on Shallowford Road in Gainesville. The youngest was released to the custody of his parents; the oldest was turned over to juvenile authorities. Gainesville Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook says the fire was quickly extinguished.

*Warrants have been taken for a fired Gainesville trucking company employee who allegedly took a tractor-trailer with him when he was terminated. The big rig has since been recovered but the alleged thief remained at large late Tuesday morning.

*A local tree service reports the theft of two chainsaws worth a total of $1,900 from one of its trucks.

*A woman says she “set her purse down” at a store on Atlanta Highway and forgot it. When she returned to pick it up – it was gone, along with the $2,231 inside it.

*A $3,000 plate compactor was reported stolen recently from a Gainesville construction site.
