First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Georgia increased by 14 percent in November compared to October. At the same time, according to the state Department of Labor, applications filed last month were down six percent from November 2022.
Statewide, claims were up three percent over October and down 12.5 percent compared to last November.
In the 13-county Georgia Mountains region, which includes Hall County, applications compared to October were up 14% and down 13% compared to November 2022.
