Habersham residents facing drug charges

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) reports the recent arrests of two Habersham County residents on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine.

Michael Burton of Clarkesville and Missy Petrocelli of Mt. Airy were arrested after they were stopped on Georgia 15 by a sheriff’s deputy because of a tag violation.

According to a RCSO news release, the deputy determined there was probable cause to search the vehicle for drugs and a K9 team called to the scene “alerted” on the car and the pair was taken into custody. The GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Tasl Force assisted with the investigation.

The amount of meth that was seized was not disclosed in the news release.
