The largest of the thefts was reported by a south Gainesville business and was described in the incident report as “Larceny – From Mail.” The loss, according to the report, totaled $16,292 and occurred between August 18, 2023, and November 15, 2023. It was reported on November 17.
The other occurred on the east side of town and the victim was also a business. It was described as “Larceny – From Building” and occurred between 6:00 p.m. November 17 and 6:00 a.m. the next day, which is when it was reported. That loss was put at $4,500.
The child molestation report was taken November 20 and occurred between July 1 and November 19, according to what police were told. The victim was a 12-year-old girl. It reportedly happened on the southside.
Though these all were reported several days ago, Gainesville Police, as of Thursday, had not released any more information on any of them.
