Holiday week weather changes ahead

If the forecast holds, our weather Thanksgiving week is going be a big change from what we’ve had of late.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting 1-2 inches of rain by midweek across most of north Georgia, including Gainesville and surrounding areas. That’s a reversal of the dry conditions that have prevailed, for the most part, for several weeks – aiding in the continued expansion of the area covered by the drought.

And then, once the rain moves out, much cooler weather will follow. Daytime highs in the 50s and nighttime lows in the 30s are expected to prevail the rest of the week starting Wednesday.
