State prisons in lock-down because of security threat

Most of Georgia’s state prisons are currently on lockdown due to an unspecified security threat, as of this morning, and confirmed by the Georgia Department of Corrections (DOC).

This does not include county correctional facilities such as the Hall County Correctional Institute (HCCI). But does include Phillips State Prison in Buford. However, Arrendale State Prison is on the list of 27 lock-ups that are affected provided by DOC.

The lock-down is the result of intel gathered following an outbreak of violence involving four prisoners at Hays State Prison in Chattooga County and indications there might be retaliation at other prisons.
