A Murrayville couple has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities say they found 13 dead
chickens, three dead ducks and one dead dog on their property on Yellow Creek Road.
“We also located 3 K9s inside the house and 1 K9 in the kennel with the dead K9, the K9 in
the kennel was severely underweight 2 of the K9s inside the house also appeared to be
underweight,” the investigating animal control officer wrote in his report. “Mr. (K.C.) Parker (20) stated that his Ex (Montana Adkins, 21) (had left and he could not afford to take care of the animals” and could not get any help even though he had a car and a phone.
After further investigation, the officer said he determined that both had failed to supply adequate food, water and sanitary conditions for the animals and arrested both.
