A student at North Hall High School, who is also a member of the school’s football team, is recovering after being injured in a single-vehicle accident on Nopone Road early Thursday.
The state patrol says the SUV he was driving wrecked when he swerved to miss a deer in the road. It left the road, struck a retaining wall, and then continued approximately 15 feet before colliding with several trees.
The driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was trapped and had to be cut from it by personnel from Hall County Fire Rescue. He was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with non-life- threatening injuries.
Though the state patrol did not identify him because of his age, North Hall head football coach Sean Pender said it was Braylon Dopson, a sophomore wide receiver and was on his way to football practice when the accident happened.
