*A child car seat safety check is scheduled Saturday 10:00-1:00 at Hall County Sheriff’s Office headquarters on Browns Bridge Road next to the government center. Certified child passenger safety technicians from SafeKids, the sheriff’s office and Gainesville Police Department will be on hand to check seats. Bring your child with you so the technicians can make sure he or she is properly fitted to the seat.
*Due to a stormwater pipe repair project, Elizabeth Lane in Flowery Branch will close to thru traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m. Saturday and is not expected to reopen until about ten days later. That’s the road where a culvert was washed out by those torrential one-day rains back in July. The section of road that will be closed is between Squirrel Nest Court and Mulberry Preserve Drive.
