*Flags across Georgia will be lowered today in remembrance of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Governor Brian Kemp issued an executive order for all U.S. and state flags on state grounds to be flown at half-staff to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost 25-years ago to the day. There will also be a moment of silence at 8:46 this morning, which marks the time when the first plane hit the World Trade Center.
*Thursday, a 9/11 Field of Flags Remembrance Ceremony was held at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, where visitors paid their respects and observed a display of 2,977 American flags, each representing a life lost on “The Deadliest Terrorist Attack on American Soil.”
*Georgia’s Secretary of State is seeking to avoid absentee ballot chaos and confusion ahead of the November elections. Brad Raffensperger joined in an effort this week to ask the Supreme Court to step in and stop the Trump administration from using the U.S. Post Office to vet ballots. He told WSB-TV that late changes breed confusion as county election officials are already up against a hard deadline.
*Former Vice President Kamala Harris is set to campaign for Senator Jon Ossoff in the Peach State. CNN reports Harris’s involvement with Ossoff’s campaign includes a fundraising dinner hosted by the Fulton County Democrats on October 30 in Atlanta, where she is set to be the keynote speaker.
