*A man scheduled to be put to death next Wednesday for two metro Atlanta murders is now seeking a new sentencing trial. Stacey Humphries claims one juror lied to get on the jury to decide his fate. Humphreys was convicted in 2007 in the 2003 shooting deaths of real estate agents Lori Brown and Cynthia Williams inside a model home in Cobb County.
*Bryan County’s Sheriff revealed in a report Wednesday that an audit conducted of the department’s Flock camera system in July showed no misuse by employees. Sheriff Mark Crowe added technology like this is only as trustworthy as the people entrusted to use it.
*Music icon Otis Redding – best known for his hit recording of “Sittin’ On the Dock of the Bay” – is being honored in the city he called home. Macon dedicated the Redding at Cotton Avenue and Mulberry Street Lane Wednesday. The ceremony was held on what would have been Redding’s 85th birthday. His daughter spoke at the ceremony and said Macon has always held a special place in her family’s heart. More events are planned this weekend.
