Motorist does U-turn on 985, becomes hit & run victim

A motorist on I-985 over the weekend did a U-turn in the median of the interstate and ended up becoming the victim of a hit-and-run, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). It happened early Sunday morning at Atlanta Highway.

“(He) was traveling southbound on Lanier Parkway (I-985) when he came upon traffic at a standstill,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams wrote in an email. “He decided to make a U-turn in the median and as he entered the northbound lanes of Lanier Parkway, another vehicle struck his vehicle from behind.”

Williams said the other vehicle continued without stopping and the victim was able to provide a description of it to deputies. There were no injuries.
