Tuesday will be a special day for Northeast Georgia Health System: Its 75th anniversary.
It all began in 1951 with the opening of the 90-bed Hall County Hospital (now Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with 629 beds) and in the same Spring Street location where it sits today. Although, part of its campus now fronts on Downey Boulevard.
And to help celebrate, there’s a special website which takes you through the years. NGHS 75th Anniversary
“For 75 years, Northeast Georgia Health System has had the honor of being there for the moments that matter most. The first cry of your newborn,” says the opening to the website. “The surgery that changed everything. The nurse who held your hand when you needed comfort most. Our mission has always been to improve the health of our community in all we do, and this community is the reason this milestone means something.”
