Gas prices this week are down a little across the board, according to AAA.
The national average for a gallon of regular is one cent lower than last week at $4.07. Gainesville is averaging $3.74 versus $3.78 last Monday. And the state average is $3.78 compared to $3.81.
This month is poised to set a new record as the most expensive August at the pump in history, surpassing the previous August record set in 2022.
