A Gainesville banker, businesswoman, and university president have been selected for induction into the Junior Achievement (JA) Northeast Georgia Business Hall of Fame.
*Dr. David L. Barnett, president of Brenau University, is among the honorees. Barnett became Brenau’s 11th president last year. It has more than 3,000 students and employs 600-plus people at its Gainesville and Norcross campuses. The university’s economic impact is estimated at $150 million-$168 million.
*Debbie Lawson Davis, owner and CFO of Lawson Air Conditioning & Plumbing, will also be inducted. The family‑owned business has been in business since the mid‑20th century. Davis joined the company in the 1980s and has helped guide its growth to almost employees.
*Ron Quinn, president and CEO of Peach State Bank & Trust, is the third honoree. Quinn began his banking career in 1980. Like Barnett and Davis, Quinn has served on numerous local civic and nonprofit boards.
The three will be formally inducted at the 17th annual JA Northeast Georgia Business Hall of Fame Gala February 4.
