Trip to Lake Lanier Islands ends in fight, one arrest

An Atlanta woman has been arrested in connection with a June altercation in Hall County that left another woman injured.

Shahada Hijah Diamond Hamad, 22, was taken into custody Tuesday in Atlanta on a felony aggravated battery warrant, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported Thursday. She was transported to the Hall County Jail, where she is being held without bond.

The incident occurred June 14 at the QuikTrip convenience store at Gainesville Highway and Lanier Islands Parkway. Deputies responded around 2:30 in the morning to a report of a fight involving several women. When they arrived, they found a 35‑year‑old woman with a broken arm.

Investigators said the victim and three other women had traveled from Atlanta to Lake Lanier Islands earlier that day. When the victim told the group it was time to return to Atlanta, an argument began. The dispute escalated in the convenience store parking lot, where Hamad and another passenger allegedly assaulted the victim, breaking her arm. The women then left the scene in a rental car, leaving the victim behind.

The victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton for treatment.

The case remains under investigation by sheriff’s office detectives.
