*Union groups are calling for change at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Representatives spoke during last night’s Atlanta City Council meeting, shining light on missed paychecks and inaccurate pay stubs. They claim the Vector Group is also taking out insurance money and union dues, but the premiums aren’t being paid. One of the union groups has filed three unfair labor practice charges against Vector Group, which contracts workers for the airport.
*A former Monroe County animal control officer is accused of burning puppies alive. The sheriff’s office told WGXA that puppies were presumably alive when Carlos Santillan placed them in an incinerator. He was arrested Monday on four counts of animal cruelty. Monroe County commissioners immediately fired him after the arrest.
*Kennesaw Police say the two teenagers are charged with aggravated assault after shooting several people with a pellet gun from a moving car in a local neighborhood. The victims include an 11-year-old boy walking his dog. Fox 5 Atlanta reports that officers were able to identify and arrest the teens after receiving clear descriptions of the vehicle and its passengers from the victims. The teenagers, aged 15 and 16, have been charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children. There are open investigations into similar incidents involving the teens in Acworth.
