Gainesville Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded after Friday night’s July 4 concert and fireworks on the Midland Greenway.
“Shortly after 10:00, just after the conclusion of the First Friday Concert, officers on patrol of the Midland area encountered a subject shot, a police department Facebook posting says . “While performing life-saving measures, police were alerted to another shooting victim in close proximity.
“The initial shooting victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The second shooting victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
