The Forsyth County Republican Party (FCRP) is demanding the resignation of a Democratic member of the county’s Board of Voter Registrations and Elections over a Facebook post she’s accused of “liking.” This was triggered by the recent firebombing of the Atlanta office of ICE.
In his own Facebook post, Evan Draim, the chairman of the county Republican Party, who’s name appears at the bottom of a lengthy statement condemning such attacks and pointing a finger at Democrats, says Anita Tucker “liked” a comment supporting them.
“By celebrating the destruction of federal property and the assault of federal officers, Anita Tucker has demonstrated that she is unfit for any position of responsibility in this county, especially one which involves securing the outcome of our elections,” the statement says, in part.
But Tucker has countered that she does not remember “liking” the posting in question.
All of this coming less than a week before this year’s midterm elections.
