The state patrol, as of 6:00 this (Saturday) morning was reporting 170 DUI arrests statewide since the July 4 holiday weekend count began at 6:00 Thursday night. Seven of them occurred in Hall County, according to Hall County Jail records. And there was one Pedestrian DUI booking.
In addition, the state agency reported one fatality, 126 accidents (14 of them DUI-related), 59 injuries, 325 distracted driving violation citations issued, and 448 seatbelt violation citations issued.
The lone fatality was a 6-year-old who died in a crash in Appling County.
The holiday count ends at midnight Sunday.
