Two people sent to hospital as a result of a Spring St. fire

Two people were taken to the hospital from a fire on Spring Street off Jesse Jewell Parkway Friday afternoon.

“Firefighters rescued a trapped occupant from the burning home and successfully prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring residences,” said Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) Division Chief Bobby Ogletree.
“The first arriving crews encountered a two-story residence with heavy fire visible on the exterior
and extending into both the first and second floors.”

During the initial stages of the incident, responders received information from a bystander that
an occupant was trapped in the house.

“Within minutes, search crews located the victim on the kitchen floor,” Ogletree said. “The victim was quickly removed from the structure and transferred to waiting EMS personnel, who initiated advanced
medical care before transporting the patient to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

“A second individual was evaluated by EMS for medical concerns related to the incident and
transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for further evaluation,” Chief Ogletree said.

No information on the conditions of the two people was available Friday night.

Gainesville Fire Department had a crew on the scene as well.
