The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a hit-and-run driver who, investigators say, struck a Flowery Branch woman on Hog Mountain Road and left her on the side of the road. It happened Wednesday night and detectives only recently developed leads in their search for the motorist.
The investigation began about 9:30 that night when the victim, who was being treated at a local hospital, reported the incident to authorities.
“According to preliminary details, Latifah Aqueelah Woods, 34, was walking south on the northbound shoulder of Hog Mountain Road near Oakfern Trail,” sheriff’s office spokesman Derrick Booth said Monday. “.A northbound pickup truck rounded a curve on Hog Mountain Road, left the roadway and hit Woods on the right side of her body, throwing her to the ground. Woods called a friend to pick her up and take her to the hospital.”
Sheriff’s deputies classified her injuries as visible but non-life threatening. The suspect vehicle is described only as a “black, newer model four-door pickup truck,” Booth said.
The case has been assigned to the HCSO Accident Investigation Unit. Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle or driver can contact Investigator Trammell at (470) 846-3930 or [email protected].
