‘Gunfire’ report leads to two arrests in Flowery Branch

A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were arrested by Flowery Branch Police Tuesday night after officers responded to a report of “gunfire” in the 400 block of Cantrell Road.

“Further investigation on scene concluded that a weapon was discharged towards another individual,” Lt. Christopher Compton said. “Officers were able to make contact with the suspect, identified as Quamir Rowe, 18, of Flowery Branch and multiple other subjects in front of a residence in the 5900 block of Lights
Ferry Road.”

Lt. Compton added that while they continued investigating the shooting, “officers located multiple various forms of THC suspected to belong to Lawson Griffin, 17, also of Flowery Branch.”

Both were arrested and charged as follows:

Rowe:
 Aggravated Assault
 Tampering with Evidence
 Reckless Conduct

Griffin:
 Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (x19)
 Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute

Both remained in the Hall County Jail at late-morning Wednesday.
