Former Hall Co. sheriff’s deputy named a VP of GACP

Suwanee Police Chief Cass Mooney – who began his law enforcement career in Gainesville – is the new 4th Vice President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP.

Chief Mooney began law enforcement career in 1994 with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, where he served for three years prior to joining the Suwanee Police Department in 1997. He was named the department’s chief in 2021.

He serves as a member of the Joint Review Committee for the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program and President of the Gwinnett County Police Chiefs Association.
