Thirty years ago next month, the world came to Gainesville. And the Lake Lanier Olympic Park (LLOP) will mark the occasion next month.
“In 1996, Lake Lanier Olympic Park hosted Olympic rowing, canoe, and kayak events during the Centennial Olympic Games,” an LLOP Facebook posting says. “Today, that legacy continues as athletes, families, and visitors from around the world gather on the same waters.
“Join us as we celebrate 30 years of Olympic history, community impact, and unforgettable memories at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.”
