Superintendent Will Schofield announced Friday his intent to recommend Jessica Burce as
interim Principal of Lula Elementary School. Burce has served as Assistant Principal at Lula
Elementary since 2023. She will replace Lynette Scheman, who was named last week the next
Principal at Myers Elementary.
Burce taught at White Sulphur Elementary School for 16 years before transitioning into
leadership. She served as Assistant Principal at White Sulphur from 2017 to 2022 and at
Chicopee Woods Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year before joining the Lula team
as Assistant Principal in 2023.
Also Friday, Schofield has chosen Sarah Lux as interim
Principal of Sugar Hill Elementary School. Lux has served as Assistant Principal at Sugar Hill this past school year. She will replace Jeremy Boleman, who was named last week the next Principal at Spout
Springs Elementary.
Lux taught for 22 years at several Hall County elementary schools and served as the ESOL
lead teacher during that time as well. She was named Assistant Principal at Oakwood
Elementary School in 2022 where she served until last year. At that time, she became Assistant
Principal at Sugar Hill Elementary School.
Schofield will recommend both to the school board at its June 22 meeting.
