The moratorium on certain classes of housing in Forsyth County has been extended again by the county commission. This latest action keeps the moratorium in place into November.
The moratorium is aimed at putting the brakes on some of the residential developments in what is one of the fastest growing counties in the country – growth which officials say is overwhelming the county school and road systems. Supporters say it’s needed to give county officials more time to complete a plan for future growth.
Parts of the moratorium were lifted a month ago. It was enacted last April Forsyth Co. declares moratorium on new residential zoning and has been extended several times since then.
