Moratorium on Residential Growth Approved Following Request from Board of Education
Commission Chairman and District 2 Commissioner Alfred John as well as District 4 Commissioner Mendy Moore discussed the commission action during a county-produced podcast.
“We need to hit the pause button. Let’s put a stop to accepting any more residential applications,” said John in the podcast. “What we did was give ourselves some time (the Board of Commissioners, the School Board and our staff) to get together, work together, and talk about what are the things we can do.”
The moratorium is on all residential applications, in place until reviewed again on May 15. The order will remain in effect until midnight on May 15, unless extended by the Board following a public hearing that day.
