Carter’s closing 150 stores; has 4 in immediate Gville area

Carter’s, a children’s clothier, which also operates the OshKosh and B’Gosh labels, plans to close 150 stores this year in hopes of staying in business.

The Atlanta-based company, which has 26 stores in Georgia including four in the immediate Gainesville area, did not say which of the stores will be closed but said they will be shuttered as their leases expire. Company officials have said the firm’s bottom line has been adversely affected by the tariffs on some imported goods.

The Gainesville area stores are in Bethlehem, Commerce, Dawsonville, and Buford.
