The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier is making final plans for this year’s Duck Derby, a fundraiser for the clubs, which will again take place at Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Next Saturday is the date, 11:00-3:00, with the race itself scheduled for 2:30.
Twenty thousand rubber ducks will splash into the water and race toward the finish line so that one lucky winner will win the grand prize of $10,000 while supporting kids and teens who benefit from the clubs’ programs and services.
This year’s Duck Derby – the 28th – will feature games, bounce houses, a petting zoo, food trucks, music, live entertainment, and face painting not to mention the main event itself – the race. And it’s all free.
Ducks are $10 each. Duck “adoptions” can be made at: https://www.duckrace.com/gainesville/adopt. And that’s where you’ll find more information about the event.
