After a long stretch of dry weather, daily chances for showers and storms will return to north and central Georgia Saturday through the middle of next week.
The weather service says it won’t be drought-busting but “decent rainfall for some may lead to slight improvements to drought conditions.”
The chances for rain? Widespread Saturday; isolated Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday; and scattered Tuesday.
Widespread severe weather is not expected but isolated strong to severe storms will be possible each day.
Meanwhile, smoke from wildfires in south Georgia and north will continue to filter northward, making for a hazy sky across parts of north and central Georgia. These conditions will likely persist until this weekend, when the cold front bringing us the rain will sweep through.
