If this week’s warm weather has had you thinking about fresh fruits and veggies, you might be interested in knowing that a new outlet for them is coming to Gainesville next month: the Midland Market. And vendor applications are now being accepted.
“Farmers markets are coming to Midland Gainesville starting this spring,” Mayor Zack Thompson wrote in a recent Facebook posting. “Grab your besties, dog, mom, whoever and join us Saturdays on the Midland Greenway starting March 21st. The Midland Market will be right outside @nofogainesville along the @gainesvilleparksandrec greenway.
“Get ready for amazing local produce, farm fresh eggs, baked goods, artisan breads, crafts, and more! Interested in being a vendor? Email Maggie at [email protected].”
Meanwhile, the long running (since 1973) Hall County Farmer Market on Crescent Drive is expected to return although an extensive Internet search Saturday did not turn up a start date and schedule. However, it usually opens in May and is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
