After weeks of “challenging” “weather conditions, friend and relatives of missing Gainesville native Charles Hosch have resumed the search for the Texas lawyer and adjunct law professor.
It’s now been three months since Hosch disappeared while hiking in the mountains of Union County. Hosch stopped there Nov. 11 while returning to Texas after visiting friends and relatives in Gaineville.
According to a posting Friday on the website site devoted to efforts to find him and “Bring Charlie Home,” the search resumed Feb. 7 “with family, BUSAR, and dedicated volunteers on the ground last weekend. Operations will continue as weather permits.
“We look forward to and in awe of BUSAR’s continued dedication, and to welcoming back Knox County (Tenn.) Search and Rescue in the coming days. Their expertise will strengthen our coordinated search operations.
“We remain grateful for everyone searching alongside us. The search continues.”
What is BUSAR?
“The New Yorker has published a feature on Backcountry Unit Search and Rescue (BUSAR), a team that has been instrumental in the search for Charlie,” the website post says. “For those following our efforts, this article offers insight into the expertise, dedication, and character of the people who have been searching alongside us.”
